Northumberland Youth Arts Collective was born when two artists got together and realized their shared love for not just the arts, but working with youth as well. This arts school is based around the foundations of interdisciplinary skillset, accountability, respect, and structured fun. Northumberland Youth Arts Collective aims to provide youth with outstanding, professional-level training in various arts streams including drama, music (vocal and instrumental), theatre production, and visual art.
Lyss England is an interdisciplinary artist and activist. Her work utilizes elements of radical vulnerability, restorative justice, witchcraft, mindfulness, performance, and direct action. She is a writer, podcaster, producer, director, performer, and abstract visual artist.
Hailiah Knight is an interdisciplinary artist and professional musician. Her music has been described as artpop to the likes of Peter Gabriel and Tori Amos. She has opened for acts such as Walk Off the Earth, Lights, The Strumbellas, and Tyler Shaw.
Lyss, Hailiah, and Northumberland Youth Arts Collective exist on the traditional territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Mississauga/Eastern Anishinaabe (Ojibwa) peoples.
